Pasto Tour Nariño - Tierra de la Fe

Pasto is a city in western Colombia known for its Blacks and Whites Carnival. The Carnival Museum houses giant figures used in the celebratory parades. The colonial, Moorish-influenced Temple of St. John the Baptist sits beside central Nariño Square. The Banco de la República Gold Museum displays precious pre-Columbian artifacts. Southwest of Pasto is Las Lajas Sanctuary, a Gothic church built into a gorge.

Itinerary

Day 1 / Arrival Pasto

Upon arrival at the Airport in Pasto, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to the hotel. Our representative will assist you at the airport. Along the way, he will provide useful information for your stay. 
Day 2 / Tour Pasto - La ciudad sorpresa de Colombia We begin our city tour in San Juan de Pasto, the surprise city of Colombia, with a tour of the temples located in the historic center of the city, where we will find republican architecture, images from colonial times, wood carving and paintings of Quito art, by the number of temples located in the center of the city. Pasto is also called “The Theological City of Colombia”! We will visit the temples of the cathedral of Pasto; San Juan; Cristo Rey; La Merced; to know the historical and cultural part of the city. ​​We will visit the Plaza de Nariño; the museum of carnival; Pasto varnish artisanal workshops, which have a unique technique, declared as a world cultural heritage of Colombia. In the gastronomic part they participate in the production of artisanal ice cream, the famous “helado de paila”. We will finish our city tour learning about coffee cupping from an expert barista and taste a typical snack of the city.
Day 3 / Pasto Sanctuary We embark on a journey of approximately two
 hours from the city of Pasto to the city of Ipiales,
 During the tour the visitor will be told different
 aspects of the history, culture and geography of the town. We descend to the Sanctuary where the image of the mestiza or "Señora de las Lajas", the visitor you will be able to have a spiritual encounter with yourself, pray, attend the celebration of the Eucharist, delight in the striking architecture of the Sanctuary, visit the museum and the low levels of it, take short walks that will fill you with energy and renewal. We finish the visit to the Sanctuary by taking a tour in cable car where you can see the imposing "Canyon del Guaitara" that crosses the entire department of Nariño from South to North. The trip continues towards the Republic of Ecuador where we will cross the border and visit the old customs house, and we will reach the Tulcán cemetery where we will find unique pieces sculpted in Cypress trees. We finish the day touring the commercial area and return to the city ​​of Pasto.
Day 4 / Laguna de la Cocha Located 40 minutes from Pasto, we will visit the path "El Puerto", an ideal place for a walk observing its houses made of wood with Swiss influence
 decorated with beautiful flowers on their balconies.
We will continue the trip arriving at a peasant house and the family will take us on a tour of a self-sustainable civil society reserve. At the end of the tour, they will offer us a typical snack of the area made by the family with products from the same reserve; This visit highlights that the foods to be consumed are all organic and cultivated by farmers.
Day 5 / Transfer Hotel - Airport Pasto Private transfer to the Pasto Airport with check-in assistance.
